There are some great hikes that are located within a short drive from the house. Most can be completed within a couple of hours and make for a great half-day excursion. These hikes are free with your 7-day park pass to Glen Canyon Recreational Area and Horseshoe Bend.

This is a nice hike during spring, fall, or winter - but don't try it in summer as there is no shade. Beautiful vistas surround you on this hike. If you're looking for a workout or trail run, this is a good pick.
The Dam Overlook Trail will give you a great view of the magnificent Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River that was built from 1956 - 1966.
Blue Pools can be a couple of things - you can do the short hike part of it, or you can do the rappels if you're experienced and have your own equipment.
This lesser-known trail is one of our favorites. It is only 20 minutes from the house. It is 2 miles round trip. This hike features spectacular hoodoos and an otherworldly landscape and is featured on Atlas Obsucra.
The Spencer Trail at Lee's Ferry is a hike with fantastic views of the Colorado River and surrounding geology.
